But.........the full name of the place is the Bisti D-na-zin WILDERNESS, so don't expect any more amenities than a parking area. I've "camped" there in the parking lot in order to photograph under early and late lighting. Spent 1-1/2 hours walking around the Bisti entrance ... the area contains volcanic ash, sandstone, coal and limestone. I would definitely come back and do the De-Na-Zin entrance. We just drove around the main road (~1.5 miles on gravel County Road 7297) and I am sure we missed some very interesting geology. There are zero facilities at the site (no brochures, no potable water and no port-a-potty). There are no facilities, no water, no marked paths, and no map handouts so you definitely need to do some preparation. On the up side there are also no crowds (only two cars in the parking lot when we were there).
